Explore Wehr’s trails together with fellow community members and enjoy camaraderie, exercise and fun. No signup necessary.

The group meets on Wednesdays at 10:30 am in front of the Visitor Center.

Wild Ones of Southeast Wisconsin

All Community Members

Wild Ones is the only national organization promoting the use of native plants in natural landscaping to promote a healthy biodiverse landscape. Our own Wehr chapter meets year-round to share their passion and knowledge of native landscaping with each other and the public. Members host tours of their naturally landscaped yards, do seed collecting, take field trips to local natural areas and offer educational programs to the public.

Second Saturday of the month, September to April, 1:30-3:30 pm.

Wehr Astronomical Society

All Community Members

The Wehr Astronomical Society (WAS) is a group of amateur astronomers that promote the casual study of astronomy. WAS offers public telescopic viewing in Whitnall Park and all levels of astronomers are welcome at their programs and meetings.

Public programs are held on the second Tuesday of February through June and September & November; 1st Tuesday evening in October, 7-9 pm.

Wehr Camera Club

All Community Members

Wehr Camera Club has been sharing their passion for nature and photography with our Wehr community for 40 years. The group is part of Wisconsin Area Camera Clubs Organization and hosts photography competitions as well as education programs open to the public.

Public programs are held the 2nd Saturday, year-round, from 9-11 am.

Wisconsin Metro Audubon Society

All Community Members

Wisconsin Metro Audubon Society (WMAS) is a chapter of the National Audubon Society that encourages environmental stewardship through education and conservation. WMAS collaborates with Wehr to offer birding opportunities such as the Christmas Bird Count, The Big Sit, and leads the weekly Wehr Birders group.

Public programs are held on the third Wednesday February to April and September to November from 7-9 pm.

Meet in front of the Visitor Center for a Sunday morning birding hike led by volunteers and fellow birders. All levels of experience are welcome and no RSVP is required to attend.
