Public programs are typically held on the third Wednesday, February to April and September to November from 7-9 pm.
This month’s topic:
WANAKIA WILDLIFE REHABILITATION AND EDUCATION Center will share their mission to rehabilitate and release native Wisconsin wildlife.
FOUNDED IN 2006, WANAKIA WILDLIFE REHABILITATION AND EDUCATION Center, which serves Washington County, Wisconsin, and neighboring communities, admits approximately 350 ill, injured or orphaned animals annually. Marty Thompson, the Founder of Wanakia Rehabilitation has earned her federal permit, which allows her to rehabilitate birds, as well as her advanced rehabilitation license from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. She will present information about the program and we will meet Animal Ambassadors to become aware of wildlife issues and ways we can help support wildlife. Wisconsin Metro Audubon will make a donation to WANAKIA WILDLIFE REHABILITATION AND EDUCATION Center, and we encourage members and visitors to help support wildlife rehabilitation.
